Promises are a big deal. You go and make somebody a promise and you keep it. That’s what my policy. It’s what my father told me and it’s what I tell my kids. You sign a contract and that’s your word. Your word is not something you can just bounce back and forth on. It’s a pretty serious matter. And I take my word pretty seriously.

That’s why I don’t take it lightly that I promised my children a jungle gym. They keep bugging me every day about it. I never gave them a time but I have put it off for nearly a year. And as they pointed out to me, “That’s NOT FAIR!!” Which I tend to agree with. How can you keep a promise if it has no date set. If I don’t set a date then it is an empty promise.

That’s why I set the date for a month ago. And I kept my promise. I didn’t have the money for it at the time, but I found money at a low interest rate in car title loans.
