Portland is my favorite city in the whole wide world.  It is such a cool place to be.  A lot of people from California come here because they get tired of all the riff raff from there.  That and they probably don’t like the earthquakes or the fact that California could some day fall in the ocean.  I just moved here from small town Montana though.  Its a lot more expensive here than I thought.  My car insurance rates went up and my rent is higher.  Everything costs more here.  I don’t know how small town people make the transition.  I am so broke right now I don’t know what to do.  I got bills up the rear.  That ain’t no joke.  My family is tired of supporting, so I’m going to have to find a different way to get some cash.  I can’t find any work either because I am a student part of the time.  So I don’t know - living in the city can be very frustrating!

One of my poker buddies did something similar. He told me to get a car title loan to make my dream come true. He said they offer no credit check loans! I’m big on getting things done early, I always have been. That includes my x-mas shopping. I recently found out that my cat has a tumor on her stomach. I was petting her and I could feel a weird lump that I haven’t felt there before, so I took her to the vet. I was right, though, it was definitely a tumor. He told me I had about a week or so to have surgery before it got worse. If we did it within a week, she would most likely be 100% better.

My gas service was cut off in September when I fell behind in the bills.  I’ll need a $250 deposit to get the service tuned back on.  I had already been living without a microwave since it broke last year.

We’ve had to eat at sandwich and burger restaurants most nights, which isn’t the smartest use of money either. Thanksgiving and Christmas were starting to look depressing for me and my daughter.

I moved to Oregon to get away from Florida heat and humidity.  I also needed to get away from my crazy family. But when my dad called to say this might be his last Christmas, I knew I had to go back.

I guess everyone grows up with a different idea of how to manage money.  My parents lived like it was still the Great Depression.  Cyndi’s dad once told me that greed IS good (never mind he didn’t have the money to fund it).
